About Me

Salam! I’m Ibtihal, a graduate student in Computer Science at the University of Illinios at Urbana-Champaign. Currenlty I’m supervised by Prof. Lav R. Varsheny to work on interesting problems in matrix estimation for causal inference and partial invariance in machine learning applications and much more as part of the Information and Intelligence Group. Before joining Illinois, I received my bachelors degree from Prince Sultan University, Saudi Arabia in 2019.

At the momenet, I’m interested in:

• Causal inference in health and policy
• Fairness and out-of-distribution generalization in ML applications
• Sciece of science

Some non-technical interests:

• Children education, specifically in underserved areas, or refugee camps
• Children learning development, cognitive and language perspectives
• Authentication of historical narrations
